Overseas Swim Camp 2016

The camp concluded with lots of laughter and tears. Tears of joy and tears of sadness, for it was the end of the camp. There is a genuine camaraderie among the swimmers, our children, our family, The Water Family.

The seniors bonded and at the same time, they welcomed the new juniors and took great care of them. The juniors were soon looking up to the seniors and wanted to spend as much time as they could with the seniors.

The Water Family wants our children to see swimming as a fun and useful sport/skill in life. We nurture our swimmers to put in their best effort, not only in swimming but also in character building. At the camp, we saw how our children grow and better themselves and we're absolutely proud of them!

We hope everyone had fun and at the same time, a huge thank you to the parents who took time off to travel to Malaysia, Desaru, with us.

Thank you, everyone!

We're moving in 2017!

Dear Parents & Children,

We regret to inform you that the lease for our current location at Block 128 will be up in Mar 2017 and we will not be renewing the lease.

Lessons from Jan – Mar (Term 1 of the academic school year) are being conducted at Block 128 if you still require our lessons.

We hope that this advance notice will give you ample time to look for a new centre (because we understand that the new location at Upper Serangoon Road may not be ideal for all). Of course, we welcome you to join us at our new location. (Bus 136 from Block 324 Ang Mo Kio Ave 3, near AMK Hub takes you to our new location)

·       Thank you for being part of The Water Family and for your support all this while.

Block 128 holds a lot of memories for The Water Family and Teacher Summer. We branched out from just conducting swimming lessons to having tuition classes as well in 2011 and we had six wonderful years at Block 128. We are totally thankful and grateful to all the neighbours, parents and children from the estate who supported and believed in us. Also to those parents who had to drive their children to Block 128 from as far as Katong and Telok Blangah, thank you for the hard work.

Blessed we are to have the continuous support of so many people from around Singapore and the media for always being so kind to us. Even more blessed we are to finally house The Water Family permanently, at its very own home. We are very excited about the new phase that The Water Family will be undergoing in 2017 but we will definitely not change our belief that every child is a bundle of potential and promises. More updates will be coming up!

Thank you, everyone!

Birthday parties are no longer the same

Birthday parties at age 10: You want to attend all your friends' parties, wear your nicest clothes, play with your friends, have lots of fun, drink lots of cola, lots of laughter & you wonder whose party is next.

Birthday parties at age 20: You want to invite as many people as you can, party whole night and drink as much as you can till you are drunk. And you wonder, where should your next party be.

Birthday parties at age 30 (with a child): You no longer think about your own party but your child's. You wonder if the theme you chose for your 2 year-old daughter is right. You wonder if she likes it. You wonder if she will have fun & be happy. You wonder if her friends that you invited are going to have fun. You wonder a lot...

Olympia's 2 year-old birthday wasn't like any birthday parties I had or I attended before. It used to be just wishing your friends happy birthday or vice versa. This year, friends are congratulating me. Yes. Congratulations indeed. 2 years have passed by so ever quickly, like a blink of an eye. Congratulations for surviving these 2 years.

2 years ago, wasn't I just in the delivery suite holding the most beautiful girl in my arms saying, "Hi! I am your papa."

And there she is today, running around the function room, finding her friends, hopping up & down the bouncy castle. Birthday parties are no longer the same. Because birthday parties now have a whole new meaning - Celebration of life.

Ollie's birthday party seems like a wedding dinner especially with the table photos. One fine day, when she really gets married. I might just break down & cry. Cry a lot.

Here's a shout out to all friends & relatives who took time out to attend my little princess' birthday party, your blessings, attendance & especially your congratulations meant so much to us. Thank you. Also not forgetting those who texted, whatsapp, & facebook-messaged us, wishing Olympia a blessed birthday. Thank you.

Happy Birthday Olympia.
