Observations and Thoughts from the Rio Olympic Games by Sergio Lopez

Teacher Jerry and Coach Yucong (and even Uncle Jack - Teacher Jerry and Coach Yucong's coach!) attended the workshop 'Observations and Thoughts from the Rio Olympic Games' by Sergio Lopez. Thank you, International Sports Academy (ISA) (For all NROC Coaches) for organising it.

At this workshop, Mr Sergio Lopez (Head Coach, Singapore National Men’s Swimming Team) shared his thoughts and observations on the Rio Olympic Games, the current training trends in elite swimming and what it takes to be an elite sports coach. Our coaches were very thankful to be able to attend the session and will definitely be back with more and better ideas for our swimmers!

Singapore National Games 2016

Singapore National Games (SNG) is over but not the burning spirit of our swimmers. Most of The Water Family swimmers swim once a week but they displayed an abundance of determination to break their personal best when facing the strong swimmers who swim 6 to 10 sessions a week. The SNG is a platform for our swimmers to experience first hand what it is like to swim competively. They also see for themselves how other swimmers  in their age group are faring and thus push themselves to swim faster. Most of our swimmers have achieved the 3 goals set by Teacher Jerry:
1. Have fun.
2. Learn from other swimmers.
3. Break your Personal Best.
Good job, swimmers.
Keep swimming!
