Open Letter To My Daughter

Dear Olympia,

I've been thinking if I should write you a letter so that when you grow up, you can read this. Ever since, the 3 of us - Daddy, Mummy & you appeared on TV for an exclusive interview, life hasn't been the same. We are a now a little known star and many people around us are anticipating your arrival.

You are now into Week 30 in your Mummy's tummy. You've been a really good girl. Whenever we tell you something, you will do it. So far, Daddy & Mummy have asked you to show us your pretty face during your ultrascan. You never failed to give your Mummy a hard kick whenever Daddy places my hands on her tummy.

With another few more weeks to go, I'm really excited to start a whole new chapter together with you and your Mummy.

Like all parents, we hope you will grow up well, strong and healthy. Daddy is a rather renowned swimming coach locally and overseas. With my resources, experiences and your talents, I hope to train you up well - Perhaps, one day you will be good enough to represent the country and go into the Olympics. Pretty clear why we named you Olympia? =)

We would also like to expose you to a lot of playtime. We are firm believers that a child learns best through play. Go ahead and have lots of fun. Academic wise, your very intelligent Mummy will take care of that.

I hope this open letter will be a good reminder for Daddy too. If ever one day, I get disoriented in parenting you, I will come back to read this and be reminded that the past few months haven't been really easy for your Mummy. She has to bear the pain of her backache, fogoing her favourite coffee, not being able to toss around on the bed and not forgetting controlling her diet.

It's really not easy for your Mummy. She's going to be the best Mummy on earth for you.

We hope you will be happy in whatever you do. In whatever you learn. Daddy have been through your stages and I can't wait to be the best teacher you will ever have. We are going to have an awesome time swimming, playing, cycling, travelling, training and doing lots of of stuff together with your Mummy.

Of course, the world is not all sunshine and rainbow. You will get to meet all sorts of people, characters and behaviors. Travel the world as much as you can. Go outside and see the world. Always remember to remain humble and respectful.

With another few more weeks to go, we've got your room almost ready and an exciting journey lies ahead for us as a family. So, let's work hard together and have a great time!

Love,
Daddy

Drive Safe on the roads

I've a 1st Aid kit with me whenever I go for my swimming lessons. Not a fully equipped one but sufficient to handle the everyday-oh-so-common same cuts on the kiddos' fingers or legs.

Never did I expect that 1 day, I would need to use my 1st aid kit on a real road accident situation. Teacher Summer and I were travelling home towards Woodlands Custom when we witnessed 2 motorbikes collide.

They were travelling on the 2nd lane while we were on the 3rd lane. Immediately, we pulled over at the road shoulder and went down to help the 2 victims.

I must admit, when I first saw the amount of blood on the 1st victim, I almost fainted. I've seen a fair share of small cuts on the kids here and there but to see blood flowing out from the arms and legs. That's quite shocking.

Without hesitation, I used my 1st aid kit and try to stop as much bleeding as possible while Teacher Summer went ahead to call for the ambulance.

Turned out, the victim was staying near our place and we decided to send him home after he repeatedly refused to be sent to the hospital.

After everything was settled including bringing the old Uncle to the police station to make a police report, we finally reached home @ 11pm.

Lesson learnt. You never know when someone needs your help. If it is within your means, try to lend a hand. It doesn't take too much but they will be grateful for your help.

Drawing is never in my blood.

Help help help... Marina Bay Sands' leaking!!! Come help Teacher Jerry!

 Poof! Flying kick!

Haha. Batman, can't close your mouth right?

I'm ready to take on Niagara falls on this kayak!

If we don't starting paying more attention to global warming and when all the polar bears are gone. Perhaps, next time we will only be left with Polar Bear mascots.

Teacher Jerry: "Ryu, relac relac... I asked you to swim 20 laps of freestyle for your own good. Don't lose your temper on me! You go relac 1 corner now!"

See, I told you splits are easy.

I'm a baby at times too!

Some babies are just to powerful for me to handle...

Don't you know I'm the next Yao Ming?

I want to go Thailand to visit the real elephants!

Even Mr Giraffe is in love with Teacher Jerry.

Monster is just a guy thingy...

In the safe hands of mum.

So this is how I look like being skinny.

And the result of too much fast food.

Did someone say that Merlion was an auspicious icon for Singapore?
Then the water that it spits out must be very lucky! Quick, drink some!

Stop hor! I never say you can take my photos!

Hulk can fly? So Can I~

On top of Singapore. Nice skyline!

I'm not short. I'm still growing..

Criss Angel? I'm the real angel.

Next time my students tell me their tooth is dropping, I know how to help them!

My fav pic of the day!

On stealth mode.

Other than swimming, Table tennis is my next real talent.

Hold on to me Russell! Wait, I think it's not going UP. It's going down!!
