Travel around the world

I made a promise to my wife to bring her around the world.

Honestly, making a promise is easy. Keeping it is the hard thing. =) Reality seems to have a bigger bat than you and will always hit you hard when you are so close.

Luckily,  Star Alliance  has a "Round the world fare". *phew* Travelling around the world is no longer a dream. It's now a mission.

So, here's how we plan to travel in 2013/14. If not, 2015/16. Will definitely fulfil my wife dream.

From Singapore to:
1. Sydney (AUS)
2. Auckland (NZ)
3. Los Angeles (US)
4. Sao Paulo (BRA)
5. London (UK)
6. Paris (Fra)
7. Zurich (CH)
8. Moscow (RUS)
10. Osaka (JPN)
11. Delhi (IND)

Fare total price: $17,709 (Economy class) $24,351 (with 1 child), $30,992 (with 2 children)

Up next, calculating the cost of travelling on a budget flight. Well, at least now I have a target to work towards. =)

Cries in a Distance

My wife has been chasing after this drama show called "爱情睡醒了" every night before she ends her night with Cake Boss.

In it, JJ Lin sang this song - Cries in a distance. Did a quick search and found this MV on youtube.

Touched by the lyrics. Moved by the photos. Couldn't help but think we are really lucky to be in a country where war is unheard of ever since the japs surrender.

We can send our kiddos to school and be assured that at 2pm, we will be able to see them safe and sound.

We can enjoy a good movie in the cinema and not worry about any bombings.

We can kiss our love ones goodbye in the morning and know that we will see them after work.

We can walk along the streets at 1am and be assured that no one will point a gun at you.

Happy Birthday Lavern!

An impromptu birthday cake for Lavern! Hee... Watching Cake Boss almost every night sets my creativity free when Lavern told the class it was his birthday!
Making his Birthday wish.
A group photo with the class after they sing him a birthday song.

Well, we don't need fanciful cakes or tons of presents to be happy. A small warm cosy family & friends wilth true wishes is enough. Then again, Lavern cake was a 3 tier orange cake! Hee... =)

Happy Birthday Lavern! =)

The Billionaire

Planned this movie for our pre-valentine day date but since tonight we had some time to spare, I decided to book tickets to THE BILLIONAIRE and so, wife and I were at GV Yishun watching this movie.

I like Biography of others.
I like to know the struggles of successful people.
I like to know that I am at a stage where all successful people must go through.
I like to know that when most people chooses to give up, I am still hanging on.
I like to know that I am hanging on because of you.
I like to know that I am not giving up because of our dreams.

Well, it's not a typical movie for some as the man next to me fell asleep and keep going to the loo. While wife and I keep tearing over the struggles. 1 thing that I can relate to is, he's just like me, always carrying big bags a.ka. barang barang around.

A quote at the end of the movie.

"Don't lose your courage no matter what, if we give in then game is over" - Top

Please Take Note

Teacher Jerry has been mobilised back to camp ( and all lessons (2pm - 9pm) are cancelled for today (Sat 11/2 ONLY). Lessons will be postponed to 31 March.

China got Talent 2011 Winner! - Zhuo Jun

Congratulations to Zhuo Jun for winning the 2011 China got Talent!

I particularly like this dance alot. Somehow, it's so touching.

Watching China got Talent, listening to their stories, their dreams. All of a sudden, I felt so small in this big big world.

There are so many people are out with so many big dreams. And China got Talent proved 1 thing, that is, if you set your heart and soul to achieve something, nothing is impossible.

When you think your world is starting to crash, I urge you to think of your dreams. Dreams that you have and promises you have made to your love ones.

And if you don't have a dream, you may wish to listen to Susan Boyle "I dreamed a dream"

"Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung, no wine untasted"

Wonderful Wednesday

Being in the system for more than a decade, I could not believe that I was so excited and sort of tossed and turned in bed on Tuesday. It was definitely not my first Learning Journey but well, my first as a 'Parent Volunteer' to all my precious kids, especially those from JO5 and BU5 in 2011.

Okay, JO6, the next time, I'll be your 'Parent Volunteer'!

It was my first long day since the beginning of 2012. Reached school at about 8am and left at about 2pm. Arrived at the centre at about 2.30pm and had lessons all the way to 9pm. Still, I had fun.

Lots of fun with my kids in school followed by lots of fun with my kids at the centre. We were having a lesson on forces and I decided to put everything into action! Tug-of-war should be the best to teach forces and to experience relationship between amount of mass and force.

It was not just a battle between boys and girls. We played 3-on-3 too!

I'm glad my Primary 6 kids are working hard together with me and I am not alone. They are as motivated as I am. I am sure as long as they work hard, they will see results. Thank you for believing in Yourselves - that is the most important! Introducing our TWFEC's Fortune Mascot - Lucky Lucas!
